Nubios Cut-to-Fit Phosphate Removing Pads have been specifically infused with phosphate absorbing particles to remove harmful phosphates from your aquarium or pond water. High PO4 levels can cause rapid undesirable algae growth and inhibit calcification by corals and coralline algae in saltwater aquariums. Like all Nubios impregnated media, this long-lasting multi-fiber material is up to twice as thick and is much stiffer than competing media, allowing it to fit better, hold its shape longer, filter more efficiently, and last longer.
