The single door provides an optimum view of the terrarium and facilitates maintenance and feeding. A push-button lock secures the terrarium. An optional lock can also be added to prevent unwanted opening. The hinged lid can be locked or unlocked at the touch of a button. The lid can also be fully opened. The glass front wall ensures maximum penetration of visible light, and a stainless steel ventilation strip at the rear of the terrarium guarantees optimum aeration. What's more, the patented double ventilation system prevents condensation from forming on the front glass door, even in humid conditions. Air is naturally pushed upwards to ensure optimal, healthy conditions. Excessive heat is therefore dissipated through the mesh top to prevent build-up, creating temperature gradients in the terrarium. In addition, the mesh panel allows UV and infrared rays to penetrate when these bulbs are required. What's more, four self-closing ports for wires or hoses, located at the rear of the terrarium, facilitate the installation of electrical accessories such as waterfall pumps, filters, the Monsoon Exo Terra misting system, etc. Inside, the front of the lid includes space for the Monsoon spray nozzle on either side of the terrarium. The bottom of the terrarium is watertight once the hose, elbow fitting and valve are attached to the drain. The drain makes it easy to change water or remove excess water. The Exo Terra Bioactive Terrarium can be used as a bioactive habitat for dendrobate frogs, reed frogs, newts or salamanders, small geckos and lizards, garter snakes and more. Ideal for use with the TerraSky Exo Terra lighting strip for terrariums with plants (PT2413) for optimum plant growth, or with the Reptile Dome NANO Exo Terra lighting dome (PT2362) for additional light or heat.
